Introducing the Space and Time Foundation
Decentralized applications should be just as sophisticated as their traditional counterparts—but without sacrificing the core principles of crypto: decentralization, transparency, and security. But without a way to efficiently store, query, and compute over blockchain data, onchain apps will always be limited. The future of crypto depends on a database that can power complex applications while preserving decentralization. Solving this problem was the genesis of Space and Time.
We’re grateful for the ongoing support of our incredible community—it's been an exciting journey building Space and Time alongside you. As Space and Time approaches new key milestones, we’re excited to introduce the Space and Time Foundation. By supporting research, ecosystem growth, and community-driven innovation, the Foundation will strive to empower developers to build the next generation of crypto applications powered by zero-knowledge (ZK)-proven data.
About the Space and Time Foundation
The creation of the Space and Time Foundation marks a natural and necessary step in the evolution of Space and Time: transitioning core responsibilities away from a traditional corporate structure to an independent steward to drive the development of the Space and Time ecosystem.
Established in late 2024, the Foundation was formed to support and guide the long-term development, adoption, and decentralization of the Space and Time network. Its mission is grounded in these core objectives:
- Ensure network sustainability and continuity through proactive collaboration and coordination with developers, researchers, node operators and other key stakeholders.
- Drive research, development and widespread adoption of Space and Time and its underlying technologies.
- Support ecosystem growth by establishing robust legal, technical and operational frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
As the network scales and governance matures, the Foundation plays a key role in empowering the broader community to take an increasingly active role in shaping its future.
Its mandate is to ensure that the core technology developed by Space and Time Labs—now MakeInfinite Labs—is governed by a global community of builders, operators, evangelists, and innovators to fulfill its potential.
The Role of MakeInfinite Labs
Space and Time Labs, the original developer of Space and Time, is now MakeInfinite Labs. Since its inception, this team of researchers, engineers, and industry leaders have:
- Invented the first sub-second ZK coprocessor for SQL (Proof of SQL).
- Architected and deployed a mature, performant database designed to deliver verifiable query computation to smart contracts.
- Developed the core infrastructure behind Space and Time, the blockchain for ZK-proven data.
- Built a vibrant global community of developers, evangelists, and researchers.
The Foundation now carries forward this legacy with a broader commitment to support, empower, and shape the long-term evolution of the Space and Time ecosystem. Under CEO Nate Holiday’s continued leadership, MakeInfinite Labs will remain an active contributor to Space and Time, focused on ZK research, enterprise integrations, and application-layer innovation.

Leadership at the Foundation
To ensure continuity of vision and leadership, several key team members from MakeInfinite Labs will transition into roles at the Foundation:
Scott Dykstra – Contributor #001, Engineering Leadership: Scott co-founded Space and Time Labs and has driven the technical vision for Space and Time since day one. As Contributor #001, Scott will bridge the legacy of Labs into the Foundation, leading engineering, research, and developer relations.
Catherine Daly – Chief Marketing Officer, Ecosystem Growth: Catherine led marketing for Space and Time Labs for over three years, bringing the community of Gigabrains from 0 to 1. As CMO at the Foundation, she will continue to oversee these efforts and accelerate the Foundation’s role in expanding the ecosystem.
Additionally, the Space and Time Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors, separate from MakeInfinite Labs. This board oversees the strategic direction of the Foundation and treasury operations, with a mandate to preserve a credibly neutral posture and nurture ecosystem growth.
More leadership and contributor roles will be announced soon with opportunities for participation from across the community.
Upcoming Space and Time Launch and Ecosystem Initiatives
The Foundation is committed to accelerating the adoption of ZK-proven data. We believe that ZK proofs will define the future of computation and power the next generation of applications across blockchain, AI, and enterprises. To realize this vision, the Foundation will provide funding, mentorship, and infrastructure to developers building applications and protocols that drive the adoption and evolution of the onchain ecosystem. Key initiatives will include:
- Fostering a community of Space and Time users, developers, and researchers through grants, hackathons, education, and community programs.
- Overseeing the continued development of the network and advancing research, which are key elements of helping the network to realize its vision.
- Laying the groundwork for transparent governance designed to gradually transition decision-making community hands as the ecosystem matures.
Our goal is to make it easier than ever to build, govern, and scale within the Space and Time ecosystem.
