Space and Time Joins Chainlink BUILD Program to Jumpstart Adoption of Enterprise-Grade Web3 Analytics
We’re excited to announce that Space and Time — a decentralized data warehouse to power Web3 — is officially joining the Chainlink BUILD Program. BUILD aims to empower Space and Time to accelerate the development and adoption of enterprise-grade Web3 analytics with enhanced support from Chainlink while we provide network fees and other benefits to the Chainlink ecosystem.
Our participation in BUILD accelerates innovation of Space and Time protocols by providing us with the resources to leverage an advanced oracle solution that enables validation of query results with the Space and Time data warehouse. Furthermore, BUILD enables us to work with industry experts and grow our community of dApp developers seeking to deliver more sophisticated smart contracts.
The community support and technical partnership of Chainlink BUILD will be integral to realizing the Space and Time vision of connecting analytics against tamperproof on-chain and off-chain data directly to smart contracts with familiar tools.
The Space and Time Decentralized Data Warehouse
Space and Time is a decentralized data warehouse that merges blockchain data with a next-gen database to power low-latency queries and tamperproof analytics across Web3. By doing so, we unlock a wide variety of big data applications for the trust-minimized Web.
We are developing a novel cryptographic protocol called Proof of SQL, which provides trustless validation that query execution was done accurately and that neither the data nor the computation has been tampered with. Proof of SQL will allow dApps to generate analytical insights in a secure, cost-efficient and trustless manner and will empower smart contracts to directly load on-chain and off-chain data with cryptographic guarantees. Space and Time’s database processes the requested data off-chain and then transmits it to be verified by a validation layer. The validated data is then sent back on-chain where the smart contract that requested the data receives the results. The Proof of SQL model ensures that any evidence of tampering with the query results is shown to users, preventing malicious actors from manipulating the analytics.
Why We Joined Chainlink BUILD
Space and Time joined BUILD to accelerate the adoption of data services in Web3 by leveraging the benefits of Chainlink’s data infrastructure and community reach. As part of BUILD, we receive enhanced technical support for validating cryptographic Proof of SQL executions and relaying the query results on-chain to smart contracts. These resources will improve the security and reliability of the Space and Time data warehouse, increasing its attractiveness as a data solution for Web3 developers.
The program also enables Space and Time to deliver expanded smart contract use cases so Chainlink users can automate the business logic of their dApps with greater data volume and complexity.
As part of our commitment to the BUILD program, Space and Time aims to make available economic incentives to service providers in the Chainlink ecosystem. This includes planning to allot 4% of Space and Time’s future token supply to reward Chainlink service providers, including Chainlink stakers, over time. These economic incentives enable Space and Time to fully realize the benefits the Chainlink ecosystem has to offer.
